Dr. Meredith Cruse was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. She and her family recognized her love for animals early based on the bond she had with Sam, the family cat. Dr. Cruse started working as a kennel attendant in high school.

After graduating high school, she went on to study Veterinary Science at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Her next step was Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2011. Dr. Cruse practiced veterinary medicine in Fort Worth Texas for eight years before heading back to the midwest.
